Yujin Kim,

PhD

Dr Yujin Kim is a Lecturer in BA (Hons) Architecture (0.5 FTE) at Arts University Bournemouth, UK. She completed her PhD from the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA) in London with her thesis Geometries of Tall Buildings Improving Wind Comfort in London. From this research, she acquired knowledge of urban microclimates, built environments, building physics and mathematics. Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills using building performance assessment software and programming languages are also attributes of hers, as described under Skills section. She was awarded a master’s in Architecture from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, the USA, after securing a bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea. Her research interests are centred around urban microclimates, built environments, net zero buildings and computational design.

She taught an undergraduate architectural studio at Konkuk University, Seoul, South Korea as an architectural instructor. Additionally, she has experience of reviewing term presentations for undergraduate architectural students at Yeungnam University, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea as a juror.

She has gained considerable professional experience in architectural offices in the USA and South Korea over a decade. During that time, she worked on various projects, including higher education buildings, offices, hotels and shopping malls.
